| The Miombo biome covers northern South Africa, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, northern Botswana, Angola, Zambia, southern Democratic Republic of Congo, the Caprivi, southern Tanzania and Mozambique. This is a dry, tropical forest/woodland system. Because it is dry, growth of trees is very slow, making for unique wood quality. Because it is tropical, the range of trees is incredibly diverse. In general terms, compared to the rest of the world, the timber from these trees is more decorative, more stable, more durable and stronger. |
